Journal Journey

Allow me to share something with you from my journal.

Journal 1

First, some words from Scripture (NASB):

Psalm 62:1
“My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.”

Psalm 62:5
“My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.”

Psalm 62:7
“On God my salvation and my glory rest; the Rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.”

Psalm 62:8
“Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.”

Psalm 62:11-12
“Once God has spoken; twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God; And lovingkindness is Thine, O Lord. For Thou dost recompense a man according to his work.”

Then from my journal entry after reading/meditating/praying through these verses:

Journal Open

“The last two days have been very difficult. I’m even having difficulty writing this…

At the moment, I feel that God is using this episode to draw me back to Him. Not to vision, necessarily, but to Him.

I am wating in silence for Him.

He is my salvation.
He is my hope.
He is my glory.
He is my refuge.

God is the source of power and lovingkindness. What an incredible combination!

I will continue to trust in Him and pour my heart out to Him. May He be always pleased with my work.”

[End of entry]

Whatever you’re facing today, God can handle it. Whatever circumstances you are finding yourself in, God is already in the middle of them. Whatever uncertainty you are wrestling with, God is “bigger than” any of it.  In fact, sometimes God places us in the center of uncertainty just so that we can be completely certain about nothing but Him.

God is freaking me out right now. I’m praying hard through something I think He is leading me to do, but I don’t want to say just now what it is. I could be wrong, and I don’t want to embarass myself on my own blog. 🙂

I’ll let you know when I know. Until then, I intend to pursue God Himself more than any plan, assignment or goal. And I hope you will do the same.

Oh and by the way, the journal entry above was written by me on December 1, 2002. …About four years ago.

May God be your Refuge today and every day.
